We stop at the traffic lights
That red light signaling
Our passion
Our love
For one another

I reminisce those sweet moments
Those times together
They lasted forever
Those passionate kisses on my couch
Our hands always locked so tight
Holding onto each other not wanting to leave
Endless late night talks
Your long walks to my house
Waiting by the window
Do you still remember our stroll on the beach?
Looking up at those birds
How windy that day was
And when you took me to the cinema?
I rested my head on your shoulder
It was all so easy
As if we were one
We were supposed to be forever
We fit so perfectly
It was real love
Best friends
Boy friend
Girl friend

Unexpectedly the red light turns to green.
Fast forwarding
I’m back to the present.
Memories erased.
As if nothing happened.
All the pieces vanished.
Our promises astray.
There’s a wall that divides us.
To one another we’re strangers.
I don’t know you.
You don’t know me.
When there’s no coming back, because YOU belong to someone else.

I wanted to represent this particular memory using traffic lights. You know how the red turns to green. I wanted to portray my memories during the red light to signify love as well as my past halting in a stop. I can remember it all again. I didn’t want to use too many punctuation, only when necessary to exemplify the past. That everything went to quickly, as if the poem is in a rush. But the red light always turns to green, returning me back to the present. Green to represent what life is now. How different everything is. I wanted to use short sentences to represent how empty my words feel like now. However, using punctuation to symbolize how slow my life is all a sudden. I guess when you’re sad time goes more slowly.

Hope you guys like it. This was real love.
I was inspired.

So we fix our eyes not or what is seen, but what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

^^ Great poem. It does remind me a bit of my own, though this is written more for a lover, I quite enjoyed it.
